document.write('
ENCORE
Encore is a 100% web based software application designed specifically for the K-12 education market, with access anywhere and/or anytime on FWISD computers that have internet access. It serves as a foundation for managing all phases of the IEP process for special populations. Encore keeps districts compliant with federal and state law, and it saves hours of time spent each year in manual compliance reviews and error corrections. The Encore ARD, FIE, and supplementary pages are color-coded paper-like forms that enable Teachers, Evaluation Specialist (Diagnosticians and LSSPs), Speech Therapist, Principals, Administrators, Service Providers and Other Users to complete and maintain accurate and compliant documents, with on-line real time review for student focused decisions based on the most current information.

Special Ed teachers at each campus attend Encore training to learn how to prepare and send the notice of ARD meetings, complete the Meeting Notification event, and learn how to draft Goals and Objectives. They also learn how to enter Progress Notes and Progress Reports at each six-weeks reporting period. After being trained, SE teachers are required to use Encore for their SE students.

Any information contained within the Encore forms can be accessed for on-line review and/or reports. These include Assessment information, Accommodations, Instructional Settings, and Disabilities. The student’s services, including Instructional, Related and Supplementary can be reviewed along with the assigned providers. All demographic information is interfaced to Encore from SASIxp, so no duplicate effort is made to obtain the student and parent information.

Encore training classes are usually held in August and January and on an as-needed basis. Classes are usually 4 to 6 hours long. At this time, all registration for Encore training is done via the ERO on-line registration system. The Encore Computer Lab is located near the Admin Bldg at the Metro Opportunity High School (#019) at 2720 Cullen, Rm 120.

Encore is managed through the School Solutions’ office which is located at the Admin Bldg. The team includes a Project Manager - Donna Brinson; Project Specialist – Carolyn Smythe; Data Base Administrator – Steve Cary; Trainer – Lanelle Hack; Data Clerk – Terri Woods; and Knowledge Center Help Desk – Mel Graham and Jan Smith.
After training, your questions should be directed to the Knowledge Center Help Desk which is dedicated entirely to assisting Encore users. The Knowledge Center takes requests via telephone, email and faxes. Their hours are Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5 PM. However, certain hours are dedicated to answering calls and some hours are dedicated to working responses to emails and faxes. If you leave a message, or send an email or fax, please be sure to provide your name and a contact number, school name and number, student name and ID number, AND a brief description of the problem so they may be able to look at the student and work on the issue prior to contacting you, if possible.

Knowledge Center Information:

•	817 871-2954 – office
•	817 871-2554 – fax
•	Email address:

o	knowledge center - internal address
o	kcent@fortworthisd.net – external address

')
