Grants and Development Department

Grants and Development Department Services

The FWISD Grants & Development Department provides information on grant availability and technical assistance to district staff, primarily from state and federal governmental sources.
The Grants & Development Department serves as the district clearinghouse for all grant applications and awards. We seek to identify, cultivate, and manage external funding opportunities and provide direction for the proposal development process, including use of research-based methods to promote project innovation.
The Grants & Development Department is a central source to coordinate stakeholder collaboration in grant activities across the district: campus and central office staff, community partners, and intra-district departments. Our mission places emphasis on providing assistance in obtaining external funding for educational programs of distinction which prepare students for academic achievement and graduation. An additional priority is to encourage and enhance opportunities for faculty and staff to introduce research based and proven educational programs aligned to district priorities and initiatives.

Applying for Grants and Accepting Gifts (Forms)

The following forms are required by FWISD board policy to apply for grant funding or to receive monetary gifts and donations, and are to be filed with the Grants & Development Department. Filing these forms does not bind the applicant to submit the grant proposal or to receive the gift. Please submit these notices as soon as possible after you know of the opportunity.

Grants: The Intent to Apply for Grant Funding Form is required to begin the grant development process. A grant is an award of monetary assistance, usually tied to a very specific purpose or program plan.

Gifts: The Intent to Accept or to Request a Monetary Gift Form is required for district reporting and record keeping purposes to accept monetary gifts and donations. A gift is an award given without stipulations that does not need to be repaid. Also, if your school or department received multiple gifts from the same organization, you may use one form and do not need to report them separately.
