– 100th Day of School –
Friday, February 4, 2005
Carlson has a long tradition of kindergartners' celebrating the 100th day of school. Here are pictures from the 2005 celebration.
Meredith McWilliams's kindergartners made these big, fun eyeglasses to illustrate the number 100. The two lenses represent the two zeros.
Elizabeth Donaldson's class poses on the playground wearing special T-shirts they made at home with their families. They sewed, hot-glued, drew, stamped, or pinned 100 items–letters, dinosaurs, whatever they wanted–on their shirts. See some cool close-ups below.
Maggie's computer-generated image of 100 footballs was ironed onto her shirt. Mallory's field of 100 flowers was painted onto hers. Close-up of Mallory's field of flowers.
Ryan stamped 100 dinosaurs onto his shirt, while Cory used a marker to write his initial, "C," onto his. Remember: "C" is the Roman numeral for 100.
Both Chloe and Harrison's moms sewed stuff onto their shirts: 100 pom-poms for Chloe, 100 army men for Harrison. On their necklaces: one hundred treats–10 kinds, 10 of each. Chloe's pom-poms are arranged to say "100."
